The newer version of the DivX player are often hogs for system resources and can sometimes hang your system causing the need for a re-boot even. Always use when nothing else is running and have the task manager handy if you need to shut it down in such cases. You will find this older version was one where DivX allowed you to install just this player (select player only in checkoff box when installing) is much better at playing movies without interrupting your work even. It takes less space in memory after its loaded for a moment and less of a hog on resources altogether. It even recognizes the languages of the subtitle tracks we embedded for example in our Remains of the day multisub versions. Simply select the "playback" feature and select subtitle tracks and choose your language from those language listings that appear. (Rather than just subtitle track1 subtitletrack2 etc as the newer versions do instead). No need to install anything else if you already have the latest codecs and converter installed. just select the player and see how you do. We think this will help out a lot of folks and Divx should know better than to stick us with what is the current version by comparison. That said, we swear by divX! its the way to go as you will see in the marketplace and on just about every DVD player nowbeing made. Michael Rizzo (please seed and thanks) PS While installing, ignore any "copy failed" message that shows temporarily while its installing. It may just be selecting the right files to install based on whats already on your system, or based on the selection you made of just the player, rather than any other old divx components that might be in the installation executable. Just give it a moment and your installation should proceed just fine in about two minutes all told. We downloaded it at oldapps.com and you may choose to get it there instead while its available. In any event it should never disappear from this site for those that cant find it elsewhere.

Now dont worry about it because this player can play even one part downloaded unrar files.... in that case you have to click on Streaming from unrar and then provide password there if no password just enter (PASS).
