A man named Turner works for the CIA reading books and postulating possible scenarios that could be applied to inteliigence work. He goes out to get lunch but when he returns everyone at the center has been killed. He calls his superior and asks for someone to bring him in, he tells him that his section chief will get him but when he arrives, the man tries to shoot him, he manages to shoot back and escape. In an act of desparation, the abducts a woman and forces her to shelter him until he can figure out what is going on. When someone goes to the woman's house and tries to kill him, he kills the man and discovers that he has a connection to the CIA, which means that someone in the CIA is behind the attempt on him. I tre giorni del Condor è un film americano del 1975. È stato prodotto da Stanley Schneider e diretto da
Sydney Pollack. La sceneggiatura è di Lorenzo Semple Jr ed è l\'adattamento dal romanzo I sei
giorni del Condor di James Grady. Joe Turner ( Robert Redford ) è un impiegato della CIA che lavora per
una piccola sezione, sotto la copertura di un Istituto di Ricerche Storiche non meglio definito, a New
York. Il suo lavoro consiste nel leggere libri, giornali e riviste da tutto il mondo,in cerca di elementi
sospetti. Un giorno Turner invia un rapporto al quartier generale della CIA su un romanzetto passato dal
suo ufficio, del quale sottolinea la strana trama e l\'inconsueta serie di lingue in cui è stato tradotto
(in arabo ed olandese,per esempio,ma non in francese).Misteriosi sicari irrompono in una sezione newyorkese
della CIA-dove vengono spulciati,da libri e giornali di ogni lingua e Paese,elementi utili all\'organizzazione-
e uccidono tutti gli impiegati. Si salva soltanto il giovane Joe Turner, nome in codice \"Condor\", autore
di un \"rapporto\" ai superiori , ricavato dalle sue letture, al quale non ha avuto risposta. Sapendosi in
pericolo di vita Joe obbliga una giovane donna, Kathie , pescata per strada, a dargli protezione in casa
propria. Col suo aiuto ( diventato ben presto, da obbligato, convinto e affettuoso) ma grazie soprattutto
al proprio coraggio e alla propria abilità , Joe non solo sventa i tentativi di ucciderlo compiuti da un
sicario sguinzagliato contro di lui, ma scopre che la strage dei suoi colleghi e la spietata caccia a lui
stesso hanno per mandante una parte della stessa CIA,e per movente quel famoso rapporto,col quale il Condor
smascherava inconsapevolmente i piani di una \"guerra per il petrolio\"da far scoppiare nell\'America Latina.
A questo punto , per mettersi definitivamente al sicuro , Turner rivela ogni cosa al \"New York Times\": ma
riuscirà, la CIA, a impedirne la pubblicazione?
