In un anno si é costruito un\'ottima reputazione, un buon giro di amici ed una bella famiglia, incarnando alla perfezione il tipico ritratto ideale dell\'americano medio. La sua nuova moglie, vedova da qualche tempo, lo ama alla follia, mentre la figliastra Stephanie, oltre a non riuscire a vedere quell\'uomo come il sostituto del suo vero padre, avverte in lui qualcosa di negativo. Intanto il caso della famiglia sterminata é stato ormai archiviato dalla polizia, ma Jim, il fratello della moglie di Henry uccisa un anno prima, non si dà pace e assume un agente privato che lo aiuti nella ricerca dell\'assassino. <br /> Un lavoro minore, seppur godibile, nella produzione americana di genere thriller/horror della fine degli anni ottanta, con attori semi sconosciuti ed una trama non troppo originale (il nucleo familiare che diventa teatro di ogni efferatezza). Terry O\'Quinn si cala perfettamente nel ruolo del diabolico patrigno, riuscendo a giocare bene con la doppia personalitá del suo personaggio. Purtroppo non si puó dire altrettanto per il resto del cast, in particolare per Jill Schoelen, la quale risulta decisamente inespressiva e non all\'altezza di sostenere un ruolo così complicato come quello della figliastra Stephanie. Il risultato é infatti una brutta copia di Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) di Hellraiser.<br /> La fotografia ha un taglio tipicamente televisivo, mentre la colonna sonora di Patrick Moraz (tastierista degli Yes in Relayer -
