Four of these studies examined the effect of low-dose radiation in women who were identified to have the genetic mutation that increases breast cancer risk. The remaining two studies examined the effect of radiation exposure in women who had a family history of breast cancer. Researchers found that women who were exposed to radiation before the age of 20 had an increased risk of breast cancer of 2.5 times. The researchers also find the same increased risk for breast cancer in women exposed five or more times to radiation. Factors that played a role in the research, included age at onset of menstruation, age, and whether the women breastfed their babies.

TRAMA (Italiano)

PLOT (English)

When the Vatican observatory priest sees the appearance of a comet, the Church is sure that it confirms the eve of the Armageddon. Meanwhile, the USA President\'s godson Robert Thorn is informed in the maternity in Rome by Father Spiletto that his wife Katherine has just lost her baby and she had troubles with her uterus and would not have another pregnancy. Spiletto suggests Robert that another just born child that lost his mother could be the substituted for his son, and Robert accepts the child and gives the name of Damien. Robert is promoted to ambassador in London after a tragic accident. When Damien\'s nanny commits suicide in his birthday party, a substitute, Mrs. Baylock, comes to work and live with the family. Along the years, Katherine realizes that Damien is evil, while Robert is contacted by Father Brennan, who tells him that Damien is the son of devil. When the priest dies in a bizarre accident, the photographer Keith Jennings shows evidences to Robert that the boy is the Antichrist. They travel to the town of Megiddo to learn how the boy can be stopped.

TRAMA (Italiano)

Damien (Sam Neill) ha 33 anni e sta a capo delle industrie Thorn che dominano tutto il mondo economico e non. Grazie a una coincidenza \"fortuita\" diviene anche ambasciatore USA in UK. Contemporaneamente un gruppo di monaci guidati da Rossano Brazzi si armano di stiletti magici per fare fuori l\'Anticristo. Quando un evento astronomico annuncia l\'avvento del nuovo Nazareno, Damien fa di tutto, come un novello Erode, per eliminare i bambini nati in quella particolare notte.

RECENSIONE (Italiano)

Terzo capitolo della saga di The Omen, terzo capitolo e come spesso accade in questi casi, il pathos, l\'interesse, la cura per i dettagli si vanno a perdere, la qualità del film va a scemare. Si inizia in modo gore con l\'unica scena degna di menzione: il console USA in UK si suicida in maniera plateale.
Il guaio del film è che il giovane viso di neill non funziona bena come l\'inquietante faccino del bambino nel primo episodio e come la faccia da schiaffi del ragazzino del secondo episodio. Come adulto l\'Anticristo non riesce ad avere quel piglio mefistofelico di gran classe che, per esempio aveva la tata satanica Billie Whitelaw del primo episodio.In più la storia si discosta di molto dal racconto bibblico e ci sono molte imprecisioni. Una su tutte: dove c\'è scritto che Cristo ritornerà come bambino alla fine dei tempi? Ma al di là di questo (la fantasia a livello di plot non è un male, anche perché non si tratta di un film storico) sono invece imperdonabili alcune leggerezze che danno la misura della poca cura che è stata prestata per la realizzazione del film rispetto alla visione globale della trilogia. Damien dice di volersi candidare al senato nel 1984, ma questo retrodata il primo film al 1950 mentre è chiaro che si svolge successivamente (direi 1970). Nel film si parla di padre Spiletto che ha confessato le sue colpe a DeCarlo, ma come ha fatto visto che è praticamente paralizzato? Quindi si fanno cenni ad eventi e non se ne tratta gli sviluppi: si parla del Nazareno che sarebbe stato messo in salvo....ma dove? Come? Da chi? Boh! Così non viene neppure chiarita la crisi israeliano/egiziana. Insomma si fa affidamento ad una forte scena di sangue iniziale, a delle filippiche blasfeme di Neill (ma meglio Al Pacino ne L\'avvocato del Diavolo, 1997, se volete sentire un vero discorsone diabolico), a \"la strage degli innocenti\" e alla trashissima (perdonatemi ma è così) apparizione finale del Redentore. In conclusione, con mio grande rammarico e trascurando l\'operzione televisiva del quarto capitolo, questa saga che fin da piccolo mi aveva affascinato, si conclude in modo fiacco e non degno e/o rispettoso del lavoro fatto dai due precedenti registi, se non per le musiche sempre curate da Goldsmith. Davvero peccato. Comunque non siamo d\'innanzi ad uno sfacelo cinematografico: Conflitto Finale si lascia guardare senza problemi...almeno da coloro che, arrivati fin, qui non hanno alternative se non quelle di concludere questa epica del Male.

PLOT (English)

Damien, the anti-Christ, is a thirty-something CEO of a huge multinational corporation and the new ambassador for Great Britain (Scotland, England & Wales), but he lusts for control of the world.
