The Killers are a rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2002. The band consists of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards, sythns), Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass guitar) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion).Part of the post-punk revival movement, The Killers draw their influences from music styles of the 1980s. The group\'s debut album, Hot Fuss (2004) brought the band mainstream success. The Killers\' second album, Sam\'s Town, was released in 2006, and the compilation album Sawdust containing B-sides, rarities, and new material, was released in 2007. Their third studio album, Day & Age, produced by Stuart Price, was released in 2008.
Live from the Royal Albert Hall is a forthcoming live album by American rock band The Killers, due for release on November 9, 2009 in the UK, Canada and the US. The album is pulled from two nights the band performed at the Royal Albert Hall in July 2009.

The killers (diffuso anche col titolo \"Contratto per uccidere\" di Ernest Hemingway) è un film thriller/poliziesco del 1964, diretto da Don Siegel. Esso è il secondo adattamento del romanzo di Ernest Hemingway \"Contratto per uccidere\". Nel cast del film sono presenti Lee Marvin e Ronald Reagan, qui nella sua ultima interpretazione.
Charlie (Lee Marvin) e Lee (Clu Gulager) sono assassini professionisti, ben vestiti, a cui è stato assegnato il compito di uccidere l\'ex-pilota di auto da corsa Johnny North (John Cassavetes), che lavora adesso come insegnante in una scuola per ciechi. Invece di stare sull\'attenti, l\'uomo consente ai due di ucciderlo. Trascorso del tempo, Charlie, il più vecchio ed il più marinato dei due, non è convinto del lavoro. Lui e Lee decidono di seguire le persone che conoscevano North e scoprire perché la loro vittima non è scappata quando ne ha avuto la possibilità. Tra le persone interrogate c\'è il meccanico e miglior amico Earl Sylvester (Claude Akins) e la sua amante Sheila Farr (Angie Dickinson).
I due killer riescono a ricomporre il puzzle che riguarda North: innamoratosi di Sheila, questa lo convinse a fare da autista per una rapina ad un cingolato, ordita dal suo fidanzato Jack Browning (Ronald Reagan); il tutto andò per il verso sbagliato e quando Browning scoprì cosa aveva fatto North, decise di fare il doppio gioco e affidare a Charlie e Lee il compito di ucciderlo, facendo credere a North che Charlie e Lee fossero suoi soci d\'affari. Anche Charlie e Lee non erano a conoscenza del doppio gioco di Browning.
La versione di Contratto per uccidere di Don Siegel era la prima a uscire come pellicola per il piccolo schermo, ma la NBC la giudicò troppo violenta per la messa in onda, e la Universal distribuì invece il film nel circuito cinematografico.
Nel 1946 era stato offerto a Siegel di dirigere I gangsters, il primo adattamento di Contratto per uccidere di Hemingway. Venne licenziato e rimpiazzato da Robert Siodmak.
Durante le riprese, secondo i dati forniti dal commento su DVD, la protagonista Angie Dickinson ricevette la notizia che il suo amico,il presidente John F. Kennedy era stato ucciso.
Contratto per uccidere è l\'ultima pellicola in cui recitò Ronald Reagan prima di entrare nel mondo della politica. Secondo l\'autobiografia di Kirk Douglas, Reagan asserì di odiare il film perché in una scena lui sta per far sesso con la Dickinson. Tantò odiò il film, che pensò che avrebbe influito negativamente sulla sua futura carriera politica.
Sia Steve McQueen che George Peppard vennero considerati per il ruolo di Johnny North.
Marvin ricevette il BAFTA Award per il miglior attore nel 1965 per questo ruolo.
