Il fascino di Star Wars colpisce ancora

The Force Unleashed è un gioco d\'azione abientato nel mondo di Star Wars nel periodo di tempo tra la fine del III Episodio e l\'inizio del IV. E\' uscito per ben 5 piattaforme: PlayStation 2, PlayStation3, PSP, XBOX 360 e Nintendo WII. La trama è decisamente molto bella, degna dei film. Rivestiamo i panni di uno dei personaggi più misteriosi mai apparsi in guerre stellari: l\' apprendista segreto di Darth Vader. Nella prima missione del gioco interpretiamo proprio Vader che atterra su Kashyyyk per uccidere uno dei pochi Jedi sopravvisutti all\' \"Ordine 66\" impartito da Palpatine alla fine del III episodio. Quando scopre che ha un figlio, decide di prendere il piccolo con se per addestrarlo. Il suo scopo è quello di avere un alleato con cui affrontare l\'imperatore, Lord Sidious, per ucciderlo. Diversi anni dopo, l\'apprendista è cresciuto e Vader gli affida la missione di uccidere gli ultimi Jedi rimasti, per dimostrare di essere pronto ad affrontare l\'Imperatore al suo fianco. Ma ahimè, \"il tradimento è la via dei Sith\" e le cose non vanno proprio come il giovane protagonista aveva creduto.... ma non posso svelarvi altro, perchè altrimenti vi rovinerei la parte più bella del gioco, cioè proprio la storia. Viaggeremo tra vari pianeti della \"galassia lontana lontana\", da Felucia a Kashyyk, da Nar Shaddaa alla Città delle Nuvole, dalle rovine del Tempio Jedi su Coruscant alla Morte Nera ancora in costruzione. Combatteremo contro cloni soldati imperiali, Wookie, Sith Lord e Jedi. Stringeremo alleanze con Maestri Jedi e senatori ribelli fino ad arrivare a fondare la Resistenza che nel IV episodio sfiderà l\'impero.

Riguardo alla grafica bisogna fare due distinzioni: nelle versioni per PS3 e XBOX, la grafica è molto bella (anche se non è esente da difetti e bug), come anche gli intermezzi video. La grafica delle versioni per PS2 e WII invece lascia molto a desiderare. Comunque, in tutte le versioni, sia i movimenti del personaggio, sia le combo che gli effetti di luce dei poteri, sono ben fatti. Purtroppo talvolta ci sono un po\' di pasticci con la telecamera, che saltuariamente si blocca, quindi non sempre la visuale è perfetta, rendendo complicato direzionare i movimenti ed i colpi del personaggio. La colonna sonora del gioco è la stessa splendida musica dei film di Star Wars, ma la qualità audio non è eccellente.

Il gameplay è molto frenetico, talvolta frustrante ed un po\' monotono, ma nel complesso è abbastanza divertente. Abbiamo a disposizione un gran numero di poteri della forza, acquistabili e potenziabili spendendo \"punti forza\", cioè praticamente punti esperienza. Di poteri ce ne sono davvero tanti ed inizialmente ricordarsi tutte le combinazioni di tasti mette un po\' in difficoltà. Ma dopo 2-3 ore di gioco ci si prende la mano ed i combattimenti diventano più divertenti. E\' possibile realizzare vari attacchi combo, tutti molto belli dal punto di vista visivo. E\' anche possibile personalizzare la propria spada laser con cristalli di vario colore e tipo, nonchè impugnature diverse. Inoltre è possibile anche cambiare \"costume\" al nostro protagonista. Il gioco salva automaticamente molto spesso, quindi quando si muore si viene riportati a poca distanza dal punto in cui si era arrivati, perdendo solo un pochino di punti esperienza.

Un capolavoro mancato

Nel complesso è un buon Action Game, ma non è esente da difetti: il primo tra tutti è la scarsa longevità. Dura approssimativamente una decina di ore, obiettivamente troppo poco per il prezzo d\'acquisto. Inoltre i combattimenti diventano un po\' frustranti a lungo andare, sia per alcune difficoltà nel \"puntare\" il bersaglio giusto, sia per la ripetitività delle situazioni. Un\'altro aspetto poco gradevole riguarda i boss di fine livello: una volta che si è riusciti ad abbassargli la barra della vita quasi a zero a suon di colpi di spada e di poteri della forza, per sconfiggerli definitivamente è necessario premere velocemente una certa combinazione di tasti nella sequenza in cui compaiono nello schermo. Se ci si sbaglia a premere i tasti, al nemico vengono restituiti un po\' di punti ferita e dovremo tornare a ripetere la procedura. Sinceramente non ho trovato questo meccanismo granchè divertente... in particolare nel combattimento finale bisogna essere così veloci a premere la giusta combinazione di tasti da richiedere molteplici tentativi prima di riuscire nell\'intento. Ho trovato anche abbastanza scomodo il salvataggio della partita: se si è nel bel mezzo di una missione, si salva e si esce dal gioco, quando si ricarica la partita si riparte per forza dall\'astronave e quindi bisogna ricominciare la missione da capo. I punti esperienza acquisiti, gli holocron trovati ecc. non vengono persi, però bisogna rifare tutta la strada ed affrontare nuovamente tutti i nemici. Ad ogni modo il gioco dura talmente poche ore che quasi quasi è meglio così, altrimenti in un pomeriggio lo finivo tutto...

In conclusione, un gran numero di frustrazioni diminuisce il divertimento, ma complessivamente è un buon Action Game, i cui punti di forza sono sicuramente la trama ed il fascino eterno del mondo di Star Wars. Ma a mio parere \"The Force Unleashed\" è un capolavoro mancato, mi aspettavo molto di più.

This is the ISO for the Xbox 360 game. You can burn this to a Double Layer DVD (I use verbatim) and play on a modded 360 system. If this is downloaded enough times I'll continue to add more. I have about 40 games so far. :)
