Shrek the Third is a 2007 animated film, and the third film in the Shrek series, following Shrek and Shrek 2. It was produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg for DreamWorks Animation, and is distributed by Paramount Pictures, and was released in U.S. theaters on May 18, 2007 (exactly 6 years after the first Shrek).

It was produced with the working title of Shrek 3, the name being changed to avoid potential confusion with Shrek 3-D. Like the first two Shrek films, the movie is significantly based on fairy tale themes. The film was rated PG by the MPAA for some crude humor, suggestive content and swashbuckling action. It was nominated for Best Animated Movie at the Kids\' Choice Awards 2008.

Nos encontramos ante un juego con un estilo muy plataformero, al estilo de los Donkey Kong, Banjo Kazoey o Mario BROS, donde tendremos que explorar los escenarios para encontrar la soluci??n a nuestros problemas. Encontraremos colorido a raudales y gran variedad de escenarios, ya que nos tocar?? realizar un largo viaje, desde la querida ci??naga de Shrek hasta los castillos de los reinos de los padres de Fiona. A lo largo de todo este trayecto, iremos encontrando numerosos personajes fant??sticos, surgidos de cuentos, que ir??n haci??ndose part??cipes de la aventura. Algunos de los cuales nos ayudar??n con sus habilidades a superar algunos retos. Robin Hood, la Caperucita Roja, los siete enanitos, el gato con botas, son algunos de los personajes que encontraremos y que de alguna manera u otra, participar??n en la historia de este videojuego. Gr??ficos Los gr??ficos que presenta este juego est??n a la altura de una superproducci??n cinematogr??fica como lo es su hom??nimo de celuloide. El t??tulo nos muestra numerosos escenarios a recorrer, todos ellos muy coloridos, interesantes y bonitos a la vista. Detalles no faltan. Empezaremos en la ci??naga de Shrek, ??sta estar?? repleta de detalles como el cartel de ???peligro, Ogro???, numerosos matorrales, altos ??rboles y criaturas a las que combatir. El resto de escenarios no se quedan cortos en cuanto a calidad, todo repleto de trabajados efectos que aportan el toque m??gico que tanto juego como pel??cula desprenden. Algunos de estos efectos son especialmente vistosos, ejemplo de ello es el efecto de ralentizaci??n del tiempo de Fiona. Los personajes que encontraremos durante la aventura, sobretodo aquellos a los que podremos controlar, est??n realizados de forma muy fiel y con esmero. Los modelos son ricos en pol??gonos y sus movimientos son muy reales. El n??mero de personajes que encontraremos durante la historia es muy alto, muchos de ellos, adem??s, pasar??n a formar parte de nuestro equipo y podremos manejarlos. Quiz?? se note un poco la falta del mismo esmero puesto en los personajes principales en algunos enemigos, que muestran estar faltos de alg??n que otro pol??gono. No obstante, este hecho no desprestigia el gran trabajo realizado en este apartado. El ??nico punto que podr??a haber sido un poco m??s pulido y trabajado son los videos. Estos presentan una calidad que posiblemente no haga justicia al resto del juego, mostrando m??s pol??gonos de los que nos gustar??a ver. Este hecho nos sorprende especialmente ya que estamos ante un juego basado en una pel??cula, y esto a priori, nos puede hacer esperar videos m??s fieles a la pel??cula de animaci??n. Pese a todo, el apartado gr??fico de Shrek 2 nos muestra bastante m??s calidad de la que podr??amos encontrar en muchos otros juegos para la consola de Sony, superando con creces las expectativas esperadas sobre este juego. Sonido La m??sica, casi imperceptible en muchas pantallas de este t??tulo, suena siempre de fondo durante nuestra aventura, aunque cueste reparar en ella. A primera vista puede parecer que algunas pantallas del juego no posean banda sonora, ya que son muchas las fases en las que, si no centramos nuestra atenci??n en ella nos costar?? mucho escucharla camuflada entre los efectos de sonido y las voces. No obstante en otras, as?? como en los momentos heroicos de cada personaje, la m??sica sonar?? alta y clara. Estos momentos suelen ser eventos en las que la acci??n aumenta y la m??sica, muy bien escogida, ayuda a adentrarnos m??s en la aventura. Los efectos de sonido est??n muy bien, a la altura del resto del juego. Estos suelen aportar cierto toque de humor en algunos momentos en los que, por ejemplo, escucharemos pedos o eructos. Otro aspecto a destacar son las voces de los personajes que, en un castellano perfecto, no paran de hablar y decir frases. Cada personaje tiene sus propias frases, y las m??s graciosas, como no, suelen venir siempre del simp??tico burro parlante.
