[color=red][b] Un’opera da ascoltare e da vedere, da godere con gli occhi e con le orecchie, come ogni volta che due o più miti si incontrano, Scorsese e i Rolling Stones: il primo che ha fatto la storia del cinema, i secondi a tutti gli effetti la band più significativa della musica rock, quella che assieme al jazz ha contrassegnato il secolo scorso diventando la Musica del ‘900.
“Rolling Stones\' Shine a Light”, il documentario con cui il regista italo-americano Martin Scorsese, riprende i Rolling Stones in concerto al Beacon Theater di New York nell’autunno del 2006, dopo la passerella di Berlino esce sui nostri schermi e sicuramente appassionerà i cultori del gruppo ma avvicinerà anche le nuove generazioni alla conoscenza dei mitici Stones. Scorsese – da sempre grande intenditore e innamorato di musica – realizza questo suo lavoro avvalendosi di un cast tecnico di assoluto rilievo. Per “catturare l’energia” che si sprigiona dai pezzi della band si affida ai direttori della fotografia che negli ultimi anni si sono affermati sulla scena cinematografica... Robert Richardson (“The Aviator”, “JFK”), è a capo di una squadra di primaria grandezza: John Toll (“L’ultimo samurai”, “Braveheart”), Andrew Lesnie (“Il signore degli anelli”, “King Kong”), Stuart Dryburgh (“Lezioni di piano”, “Il velo dipinto”), Robert Elswith (“Magnolia”, “Lemony Snicket – Una serie di sfortunati eventi”, “Il mistero di Sleepy Hollow”) e Ellen Kuras (“Summer of Sam – Panico a New York”, “Se mi lasci ti cancello”).
Martin Scorsese, qui alla sua terza esperienza di film dedicati alla musica dopo “L’ultimo Valzer” e “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan” (ma anche il primo episodio di “The Blues” o il video “Bad” per Michael Jackson), focalizza la sua attenzione sul gruppo finendo, inevitabilmente, a centrare l’obiettivo sul leader indiscusso, quel Mick Jagger il cui carisma calamita luci e macchine da presa e riprendendo lui è come riprendere l’anima del gruppo. Un’anima travolgente a rappresentare il rock nella sua essenza più pura e significativa. Ma il regista ci mette anche del suo e così ci regala colpi di genio come la soggettiva di Jagger, i dettagli degli sguardi dei rocker o le mille luci di New York.
Insomma, più che un film, un manifesto su una delle forme d’arte più rappresentative del nostro passato prossimo ma anche del presente.
