Dice Tim Allen di avere accettato di interpretare per la terza volta in dodici anni Babbo Natale dopo che gli autori hanno deciso di porre al centro della

sua nuova vicenda la riflessione “come sarebbe il mondo senza Babbo Natale?”. Non sapeva però che la questione era già stata affrontata dalla famiglia del

toro scatenato Jack La Motta: “…era cosi\' povera che a Natale mio padre usciva di casa e sparava un colpo di pistola; poi rientrava dicendo: Babbo Natale si

e\' suicidato”. Insomma, per quanto si possa confezionare di buoni propositi le annuali commedie natalizie targate Disney, è innegabile che l’intento sia

sfruttare l’atmosfera della festa più tradizionale che ci sia per portare le famiglie al cinema a colpi di buoni sentimenti.
Progetto studiato a tavolino, ma non per questo negativo. Ha mai fatto male un po’ di sana commozione, il desiderio di un abbraccio e l’idea che davvero che

almeno Natale si possa essere tutti un poco più buoni? Messi da parte quindi sarcasmo e cinismo ,ecco che il discorso diventa: ma questa nuova avventura di

Babbo Natale raggiunge il suo scopo?
Dopo una mezz’oretta in cui il film sembra la fiera dei luoghi comuni, delle battute telefonate e di uno sviluppo narrativo prevedibile quanto una figuraccia

di Giurato, Santa Clause è nei guai si scrolla un poco di dosso la fiera dell’ovvietà e comincia ad interessare prendendo in prestito l’espediente alla base

di Ritorno al futuro. Il pubblico di riferimento passa da bambini tra i 5 e i 7 anni, a quello un po’ più adulto dell’età adolescenziale. Ci si comincia così

a preoccupare delle sorti di questo simpatico Babbo Natale che conoscemmo per la prima volta dodici anni fa. L’idea che tutto questo tempo sia passato

inutilmente e che quello spirito natalizio che spesso cerchiamo di smontare davvero non esista più, sarebbe insopportabile. I limiti di questa festa li

conosciamo: spesso più che il corollario di uno stato d’animo, il regalo diventa il protagonista (aspetto mostrato anche nel film), però rinunciarvi del

tutto….
E così un sempre bravo Tim Allen fa da traino ad un film che nonostante qualche “ma”, non deluderà i propri spettatori.
