Game info:

A series of strange murders have occurred in the woods outside Raccoon
City. Worried by these events, the police send the elite S.T.A.R.S. unit
to investigate. Unfortunately, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield are
separated from the unit. Now, they have stumbled upon a hidden mansion,
which is apparently the key to solving the murders. Take the role of Chris
or Jill and investigate the mansion. While the plot is the same as the
original RESIDENT EVIL, Director’s Cut offers some new bonuses, namely
new CG footage and two new difficulty levels, Training and Advanced. The
Training mode is an easier version where typewriter ribbons and ammunition
are plentiful, while in the Advanced mode both items are more difficult to
come by. While these are the most drastic changes in RESIDENT EVIL:
Director’s Cut, there are several more surprises waiting as well.
