It\'s almost hard to believe in this day and age of movie and game tie-ins, but other than a couple of handheld games, the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie didn\'t have a companion game on consoles. Disney Interactive Studios is making up for lost time with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World\'s End, which features plotlines from both the second and third Pirates movies. While the game does a solid job of capturing the look and humor of the movies, it fails to emulate the films\' action sequences very well. The combat is extremely simple, and you\'ll grow tired of mashing on the attack button well before you reach the end of the game.

Se gran parte dell\'appeal dei Pirati deriva dal suo plusvalore spettacolare, nel terzo capitolo c\'è indubbiamente un\'idea forte
di mondo, un mondo più in là di questo, dove ciascuno dei protagonisti accetta le conseguenze del proprio destino mettendosi al servizio generoso
dell\'altro. Il viaggio ai confini del mondo diventa un percorso di formazione che questa volta comprende tappe luttuose, la morte del padre di Elizabeth,
e di rinuncia, il sogno di Jack per la vita di Will. Recuperato il capitano Sparrow, accaparrato dal cattivo Jones e conservato quasi folle in un limbo
bianco accecante e salato, il film di Verbinski salpa per mare eccedendo piacevolmente la misura e invadendo il racconto di battaglie spettacolari.
Esplosioni di assi, alberi abbattuti, cannonate assordanti, sciabole sferraglianti, abissamenti e ammaraggi scoperchiano letteralmente il mare e
sguinzagliano la fantasia degli autori.
Ai confini \"dei pirati\" si conciliano due anime inconciliabili: guerra e piacere. Più il conflitto cresce in accanimento più aumenta l\'esibizione della
bravura, lo sfarzo del duello che diventa una danza in equilibrio sull\'abisso salato. Come fu per la Compagnia dell\'Anello, anche i Pirati dei Caraibi
controvertono gli archetipi delle fiabe dove la quête (la ricerca) è sempre per la conquista di qualcosa. Qui invece l\'obiettivo diventa la distruzione
di qualcosa: il cuore di Jones. Torna l\'idea di un gruppo composito in missione che combatte battaglie e trova aiutanti più o meno magici. Un\'identità di
razze separate (pirati sì ma francesi, africani, indiani, cinesi) che stenta a farsi collettiva ed è ricca di spassosissimi conflitti interni poi annullati
nella frenesia dell\'azione.
I protagonisti uniti e resistenti diventeranno strumenti funzionali al progetto comune: combattere i cattivi capitani. Ad aiutare i ragazzacci di Verbinski
accorrono i buoni padri, quello trapassato di Elizabeth, quello dannato di Will e quello ston(e)-ato di Jack, dispensatori di saggezza e conoscenza. Per
l\'ultima volta (forse) la saga dei pirati ci dona il prodigio scenico di Johnny Depp e del suo pirata, declinazione ironica dell\'eroe. Corpo grottesco e
carnevalesco alienato da se stesso e proiettato e frammentato in dieci, cento, mille Sparrow che vivono e agiscono a un tempo ciascuno per proprio conto,
governando la Perla Nera o ramazzando il suo ponte. Personalità multiple e simultanee che si annullano in una sola nell\'epilogo dall\'accento epico, dove
ancora una volta Jack sfodera il suo orgoglio pirata brindando alla prossima rotta. Un firmamento di stelle e un consiglio: non muovetevi fino alla fine
del mondo e dei titoli di coda.

Roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow???s idyllic pirate life capsized after his former first mate, the wily Captain Barbossa mutinied and commandeered Jack???s ship, the Black Pearl. Barbossa marooned Jack on a deserted island, but Jack escaped. Some years later, Jack arrives in Port Royal to steal a ship. His plan is sidetracked when he saves the governor???s daughter, Elizabeth from drowning. Because he???s a pirate, he???s promptly jailed and condemned to hang. Barbossa attacks Port Royal, searching for the last gold coin needed to end an ancient Aztec curse. Barbossa kidnaps Elizabeth, who has come into possession of the coin. He mistakenly believes she???s the child of long-gone shipmate, Bootstrap Bill. Will Turner, the town blacksmith and a master swordsman, loves Elizabeth, and he enlists Jack???s help to rescue her. Jack agrees, but neglects to mention the curse that has doomed Barbossa and the other pirates to an immortal life as ???living dead.??? (Jack escaped the curse.) After busting Jack out of jail, the two hijack a British naval ship, collect a motley crew, and chase the Black Pearl to Isla de la Muerta, the pirates??? island hideout.
