So here we are the end of the Monkey Island season and the gang at Telltale have really outdone themselves with an engaging story and entertaining jokes that pull from the events of the entire season. Spinner Cay, face contests and a reversal of some powerful Voodoo magic all come into play in this enjoyable finale. If only the puzzles had been a bit more challenging, the whole experience would have been just perfect.

- Recensione -

Il primo incontro dei videogiocatori con lo sfortunato ed esilarante aspirante pirata Guybrush Threepwood avvenne nel lontano 1990 quando la LucasFilm Games (poi divenuta LucasArts) produsse una spassosissima avventura grafica per PC intitolata The Secret of Monkey Island. Passata alla storia nel mondo videoludico per il suo estremo umorismo, il primo capitolo di questa saga vedeva il giovane Threepwood affrontare una lunga serie di peripezie nel tentativo di sconfiggere il malvagio corsaro fantasma Le Chuck. Da allora molte altre avventure hanno visto protagonista Guybrush, ma fino ad oggi nessuna si era mai spinta oltre la sfera dei videogiochi per computer (PC e Amiga per i primi due capitoli, solo PC - ovviamente - per il terzo). Tuttavia ecco che, ad un anno di distanza dalla sua uscita, il quarto episodio della serie ambientata nel Mar dei Caraibi approda su PlayStation 2 con il titolo di Fuga da Monkey Island.

GUAI NEL MAR DEI CARAIBI
Pressochè inalterato rispetto alla versione per PC, Fuga da Monkey Island segue fedelmente lo stile umoristico che caratterizza l\'intera serie, presentando ancora una volta una trama al limite dell\'incredibile. Dopo un viaggio di nozze durato ben tre mesi, il neo-pirata Guybrush Threepwood fa ritorno a casa su Melee Island con la bella Eleine Marley, sua moglie nonché governatore dell\'isola. Pessime notizie attendono però la giovane coppia: infatti, un misterioso imprenditore australiano ha comprato l\'intero l\'atollo per trasformarlo in un tecnologico parco dei divertimenti ed il ricco e senza scrupoli Charles R. Charles, ha approfittato della lunga assenza di Eleine per farla dichiarare morta, e si è candidato come nuovo governatore dell\'isola di Melee. Saranno necessarie tutta l\'astuzia e la sagacia (?) del protagonista per porre rimedio a questo spiacevole inconveniente e salvare il loro piccolo angolo di paradiso tropicale.

VITA FACILE SU MONKEY ISLAND?
La prima novità che caratterizza Fuga da Monkey Island rispetto ai tre predecessori, di cui però mantiene assolutamente inalterato lo stile complessivo, è la veste grafica che, contrariamente a quanto avveniva in passato, presenta personaggi interamente modellati in 3D che si muovono su vivaci fondali bidimensionali. Il tempo della vecchia interfaccia S.C.U.M.M. (nata per Maniac Mansion e basata sulla possibilità di abbinare verbi ed oggetti selezionandoli nell\'apposita lista) è effettivamente passato del tutto - fin dai tempi di Sam&Max e Full Throttle - ma questa nuova veste, essenziale e immediata, potrebbe mostrarsi adatta ai giocatori meno esperti, specialmente se alla loro prima esperienza con le avventure su Monkey Island. Anche i controlli di conseguenza risultano semplificati: quando Guybrush entra nel raggio di un oggetto o di un personaggio \"utile\" al fine dell\'avventura, automaticamente in basso nello schermo compare la lista delle azioni eseguibili. Una volta scelta quella desiderata, tramite le frecce direzionali o i tasti R1 o R2, una semplice pressione del tasto Croce permetterà di compierla. Inoltre sarà possibile raccogliere gli oggetti con il tasto Quadrato, osservare l\'ambiente circostante e quanto in esso contenuto premendo il tasto Cerchio ed infine usare gli oggetti raccolti o parlare con i personaggi incontrato con il tasto Triangolo. Al tasto L2 è affidato il compito di aprire l\'inventario per prendere qualcosa in esso contenuto, per cercare di combinare due oggetti raccolti o più semplicemente per esaminarli. Praticamente, come già era accaduto con Grim Fandango, il classico puntatore del mouse viene sostituito direttamente dal protagonista dell\'azione che, controllato mediante joypad dal giocatore, assumerà il duplice ruolo di protagonista e di interfaccia di gioco.

PICCOLI PIRATI CRESCONO
Come nel classico stile della saga che vede come protagonista il pirata Guybrush Threepwood, l\'intero spirito dell\'avventura non è basato sull\'azione vera e propria quanto sulla risoluzione della gran quantità di enigmi, di difficoltà variabile, che la costellano. La capacità di cogliere il lato comico nelle varie circostanze e saper reagire secondo schemi che esulano dalla logica più tradizionale sono doti indispensabili per poter portare a compimento la missione di recupero del selvaggio atollo di Melee Island.

Este regreso de la primera parte de la famosa serie presenta gr??ficos actualizados en alta definici??n, banda sonora remasterizada y las voces de la tercera parte -Dominic Armato como Guybrush Threepwood, Alexandra Boyd como Elaine Marley y Earl Boen como el pirata fantasma LeChuck.
