Quella che segue non può, in fondo, essere considerata una vera e propria tracklist, dato che il video va indiscutibilmente guardato per intero, per coglierne il senso, e dato che peraltro in alcune parti vengono presentati spezzoni tratti da brani più lunghi (ad esempio il tema di Rohan non è eseguito per intero).

Ecco qualcosa che gli appassionati di Tolkien tanto quanto gli appassionati di bella musica non dovrebbero perdersi per nulla al mondo: Howard Shore dirige, a Montreal, l\'esecuzione della colonna sonora del \"Signore degli Anelli\", capolavoro musicale indiscusso, a mio parere, raccontando peraltro il suo viaggio nella terra di mezzo tramite i disegni di Alan Lee e John Howe.
Il video presenta alcuni brani della colonna sonora, scelti non solo per rilevanza narrativa, ma soprattutto per l\'importanza che essi hanno rivestito nell\'iter compositivo percorso dal direttore statunitense. I musicisti più o meno esperti potranno ammirare un\'orchestra di dimensioni tutt\'altro che trascurabili e, specialmente nei brani più emotivamente tesi e movimentati, l\'utilizzo di notevoli sperimentalismi (si veda ad esempio la lastra metallica utilizzata come percussione nel tema di Isengard, emblema della violenza del progresso, della ferocia della produzione di massa).
Unica pecca la mancanza di sottotitoli per le brevi interviste, ma questo non preclude un assoluto godimento musicale e visivo.
