I used to collect Linuxgames and try them out, and make proper releases of them. Back then I was an Administrator of the torrent site Trice, and I was in charge of for Linuxgame releases. The site shut down however, and here is 4 games I found on an old CD, that I haven't properly tried out, and I also don't run Linux nowdays. Worms World Party is an artillery game, which is a type of strategy game. It was developed by Team17.

This 2D game, like its predecessors, involves controlling an army of worms and using a collection of weaponry to eliminate the opposing team(s) of worms. The player can play against the computer, or can play against people on the same computer or over the Internet or LAN (TCP/IP and IPX supported).

The player can set up many options prior to battling that can make for an interesting challenge. There are also single-player and multiplayer missions available to help you refine the player's skills in using the various weapons and utilities. Many believe this to be the high point of the Worms series[citation needed].

It is also the last console game before 3D play was introduced in Worms 3D.

There is a plan to make WA and WWP cross compatible when WA reaches v4.0. Since the development of new WA patches is quite slow it can take quite a long time till that cross compatibility ever happens.

Yokosuka, Japan, 2112 AD. The young student Kazuki Takemura works as a test pilot with Kirishima Industries, a production company of military battle wanzers (walking panzers), mechanized walking robots with movement similar to that of a human being. Kazuki has just finished testing the combat capabilities of the new Zeinslev prototype in the lab. Finishing his day's tasks he is asked by his best friend Ryogo to help with a company delivery to the Japanese Defense Force (JDF) military based. This simple choice determines where Kazuki is when strange things begin happening in Japan. A large explosion, a wanzer theft, his sister Alysia being hunted, rumors of a powerful weapon, and accusations of involvement by agents of both the OCU and the USN all make the situation more complicated. Kazuki is swept up in a plot of conflicting loyalties and attacked by various factions. He will need to recruit additional characters and wanzers in order to be victorious in battle and investigate leads to uncover what is going on.

The first in the Dead or Alive series, and features many of the same features that has made the DoA series so popular today; somewhat realistic combat, good character design, and scantily clad women whose breasts bounce a lot.

The game doesn't mess too much with a background story- it's a 3D one on one fighter that takes place within an arena of limited space. Each character has their own unique way of fighting, their own abilities, and even their own hobbies and likes. (For example, Ryu Hayabusa- yes, he of Ninja Gaiden fame- likes sushi, mountain climbing, and fishing.)

Soldier of Fortune was developed to be based on the Soldier of Fortune magazine. About midway through the game\'s development, Raven Software hired a professional mercenary, John Mullins, to act as a consultant on the game for purposes of realism and accuracy. A fictional version of Mullins was eventually made into the game\'s main character.

Soldier of Fortune was one of the first \"real-world\" first-person shooters, with modern weapons and human opponents, as opposed to more fantasy/sci-fi oriented games like Doom or Duke Nukem 3D.

Sid Meier\'s Alpha Centauri (sometimes abbreviated to SMAC or Alpha Centauri) is a 4X turn-based strategic computer game created by Brian Reynolds and Sid Meier under the auspices of Firaxis Games in 1999. It is based on a fictional attempt by human beings to colonize a planet in the Alpha Centauri star system. It picks up where Meier and Reynolds\' earlier title, Civilization II, left off. An expansion pack called Sid Meier\'s Alien Crossfire (aka SMACX or just SMAX) was also released. Although popular with gamers, the game never reached the heights of success of the Civilization games. Pre-patched versions of Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire were later bundled together in the Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack.
