Mothership è una raccolta della band hard rock britannica dei Led Zeppelin, pubblicato a partire dal 12 novembre 2007 dalla Atlantic Records e dalla Rhino Entertainment.

Le tracce sono state scelte dai membri superstiti del gruppo Jimmy Page, Robert Plant e John Paul Jones a rappresentanza dei loro otto album. Insieme all\'edizione \"base\", è stata messa in commercio un\'edizione Deluxe che comprende un DVD video. Verrà rilasciata anche un\'edizione in 4 LP. L\'11 dicembre 2007, le vendite della raccolta nel solo Regno Unito hanno superato le 300.000 unità, aggiudicandosi così il disco di platino.
La cover dell\'album è stata realizzata da Shepard Fairey.

I Led Zeppelin sono stati un importante gruppo rock britannico degli anni settanta. Sono fra gli artisti di maggior successo nella storia della musica e vengono anche considerati fra gli ispiratori di generi come hard rock ed heavy metal, nonché innovatori del rock in generale. La loro musica fu influenzata anche da altri generi, fra gli altri blues, rockabilly, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, classica, celtica, indiana, araba, folk, pop e latina. Il gruppo, formatosi nel 1968 e scioltosi nel 1980, anno della morte del batterista, fu formato da Jimmy Page (chitarra), Robert Plant (voce e armonica), John Paul Jones (basso, mandolino e tastiere) e John Bonham (batteria), per l\'intero periodo della sua attività. La discografia comprende dieci dischi ufficiali pubblicati dal 1969 al 1982 (l\'ultimo dei quali, \"Coda\", pubblicato due anni dopo la morte di Bonham, per rispettare gli impegni discografici). Successivamente sono state pubblicate alcune raccolte di brani, editi ed inediti, e di incisioni di esibizioni dal vivo risalenti al periodo di attività di gruppo. Degna di segnalazione anche la numerosa produzione di bootlegs.
A seguito dello scioglimento, i tre componenti hanno intrapreso carriere da solista (Page e Plant hanno anche inciso due dischi insieme), e si sono riuniti alcune volte per esibirsi dal vivo in occasione di manifestazioni commemorative o celebrative.
Il 12 gennaio 1995 i Led Zeppelin sono entrati nel Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
