Tredici tv movie firmati dai più acclamati maestri del genere, tra i quali John Landis (Kentucky Fried Movie, The Blues Brothers, Un lupo mannaro Americano a Londra, Una poltrona per due, che vanta anche collaborazioni con pop star del calibro di Michael Jackson), Darren Bousman (Saw II, III e IV), Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, Dolls, Space Truckers), Brad Anderson (The Machinist) e Ronny Yu (La sposa di Cuchy) e interpretati da ottimi attori come Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Shiri Appleby (Charlie Wilson’s War), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), Cynthia Watros (Lost), Eric Roberts (Heroes) e John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise).
Alcuni di questi registi hanno già condiviso l’esperienza di Masters of Horror, capostipite delle antologie horror, divenuto presto fenomeno di culto.
Questa serie, che prende il titolo dal celebre motto “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” (l’unica cosa di cui aver paura è la paura stessa), è inoltre ideata dallo stesso creatore, Mike Garris.
