Quando hai la velocità ed i motori nel sangue non c\'è nulla da fare, e questo Brian (Paul Walker / I teschi) lo sa benissimo. Dopo essersi infiltrato in una gang di \"street racers\" nel primo episodio, è rimasto affascinato dal mondo dei motori ed ora che è stato espulso dalla polizia si guadagna da vivere nelle corse clandestine di cui è divenuto maestro.
Ma inaspettatamente giunge l\'occasione per riscattarsi: il suo vecchio capo gli offre la possibilità di infiltrarsi come corriere nell\'organizzazione dello spacciatore Carter Verone (Cole Hauser / Tigerland) per affiancare un altro agente infiltrato, Monica (Eva Mendes / Once upon a time in Mexico), la cui copertura inizia ad essere a rischio.
Per questa operazione Brian ha bisogno di una \"spalla\", una seconda guida in grado di seguirlo ovunque ed il migliore è il suo vecchio compagno, ora galeotto, Roman (Tyrese / Baby Boy). I due non vanno propriamente d\'accordo, oltre al fatto che Roman è leggermente insofferente all\'autorità, ma ormai i due sono in ballo e la situazione si fa sempre più calda.Le star del film più che gli attori sono le macchine non solo le giapponesi già ampiamente sfruttate nel primo episodio (questa volta un Nissan Skyline R-34 ed una Mitsubishi Evolution 7) ma anche i classici cavalli americani di una Hemi Dodge Challenger ed una Yenko Camaro, più almeno altre 400 \"comparse\". Corse spettacolari, stavolta non più sul \"quarto di miglio\", ma anche con qualche curva e un pò di traffico, ed effetti vari sia digitali che di stunt. Certo appare chiaro che agli americani fa sempre un grandissimo effetto vedere qualcuno in grado di usare un cambio manuale a giudicare dal numero di inquadrature che Singleton ha dedicato a questo \"difficilissimo\" gesto. Alla fine l\'effetto è assicurato: qualche gara mozzafiato, un pò di acrobazie, un pizzico di love-story, una spruzzatina di azione e le classiche gag in \"bianco e nero\". L\'unico neo, in un film all\'insegna del glamour e dell\'immagine, sono le presenze femminili: se Eva Mendes non è proprio la classica bellezza mozzafiato, l\'altra star, la modella Devon Aoki, si può tranquillamente definire brutta (incredibile, ma vero).
Beh, non vi resta che correre a vederlo ed occhio all\'autovelox.

[b] Il binomio \"donne e motori\" ha da sempre affascinato l\'immaginario, soprattutto quello maschile. \"Fast and Furius\" incarna totalmente questo archetipo. Adrenalina e testosterone si amalgamano all\'odore della benzina e del protossido d\'azoto in una miscela decisamente esplosiva.I toni investigativi del film vengono quasi completamente soppiantati dalla febbre delle corse, dalle auto truccate che rubano lo spazio agli stessi attori e che sono le vere protagoniste della pellicola.
Brian (Paul Walker / \"The Skulls\"- \"Plesantville\") sembrerebbe il solito appassionato di motori, desideroso di imporsi nel mondo delle corse illegali, in realtà è un poliziotto sotto copertura a caccia di una banda di ladri di autotreni.
Dominic (Vin Diesel / \"Pitch Black\" - \"1 Km da Wall Street\") è \"Il Re\" delle corse, il più veloce, il più spericolato, quello che fa tendenza, che detta legge e che conosce tutti nell\'ambiente.
Per Brian è facile restare affascinato dalla figura di Dom e diventa sempre più difficile dirgli qual\'è la sua missione, tanto più dopo essersi innamorato di Mia (Jordana Brewster / \"The Faculty\"), la sorella.
La pellicola, che non fa certo della sceneggiatura il suo punto di forza (è meglio che rinunciate ad ogni velleità su questo), si dimostra una sorta di incrocio tra \"Giorni di Tuono\" e \"Point Break\" fondendo l\'ambiente del primo con le trame del secondo in una sorta di moderno western dove le auto sostituiscono i cavalli e i TIR le diligenze. Rob Cohen (\"The Skulls\" / \"Dragon - La Leggenda di Bruce Lee\"), punta sulla spettacolarità e sull\'impatto visivo sia degli attori (ottimo il casting) che degli automezzi. Proprio sulle auto è stato focalizzato il maggior sforzo produttivo; oltre ad aver realizzato quelle dei protagonisti (anche in più esemplari per le diverse necessità di ripresa), è stata avviata una catena via internet per invitare sul set i proprietari di queste \"muscle car\" appartenenti al mondo del \"drag racing\", questo ha consentito di realizzare le sequenze dei raduni in cui possiamo ammirare centinaia di macchine modificate, alcune delle quali sono ormai oggetto di culto.
Molto convincente anche l\'accostamento musicale, mentre meno efficace la scelta del regista di utilizzare degli effetti quasi stroboscopici per enfatizzare le sequenze ad alta velocità, che in questo modo risultano poco \"leggibili\".
A parte il pesante ruolo nella produzione che sicuramente hanno rivestito gli sponsor, si vedono etichette e marchi dovunque, è interessante notare come tutte le macchine più veloci, ovvero più modificabili, sono giapponesi, unica eccezione una Volkswagen \"Jetta\" (che personalmente ritenevo essere l\'equivalente di un cassonetto della nettezza urbana).
