The movie Scarface is a Hip Hop Bible, as it is showed that 99 percent of people in the Hip Hop business has a copy of the classic and/or a poster on thier walls. The story of a Cuban refugee who went from piss poor to filthy rich through huslting and taking no shorts gives some inspiration. To others at least the feel of a classic is conveied. The dialogue from the movie is so repeated and used that it doesn't have to be a Scarface conversation to know what is up. The album isn't a soundtrack but a colaboration effort with songs that have used lies, sights, themes, and songs from the classic film. Featuring Def Jam's hottest and others, the album brings prereleased hot songs of the past on and lets you think of it's relevance. Some are easy to remember and spot for relevance. Others are a little more difficult. Mixed in with interlude cuts from the movie this album plays like a mini-movie. This album for those who haven't heard most of the tracks gives you an old school education. For those who remember these tracks, some of your favorites on one LP.
