Ein guter Cop wird aus einem vorbeifahrenden Auto erschossen; das Police Department schreibt den Vorfall als willk�rlichen Gewaltakt ab. Ein gro�er Fehler. Denn dieser junge Cop hat einen in einer Spezialeinheit ausgebildeten, stra�enkampferprobten R�cher mit Nerven aus Stahl zum Vater, der nur ein Ziel kennt: Gerechtigkeit. Um den M�rder seines Sohnes zu finden, zieht Simon Ballister (Steven Seagal) in eine �ble Gegend, wo er sofort von zwei Gangmitgliedern in Empfang genommen wird - die er postwendend mit blutiger Nase nach Hause schickt. Ballister l�sst sich nicht so leicht abschrecken und macht vor nichts halt, um den M�rder seines Sohnes zu finden. Doch die Gangs haben jede Menge Leute, Waffen, Polizeischutz und gef�hrliche jugendliche Draufg�nger auf ihrer Seite - bis Ballister diese vermeintlichen Tr�mpfe gegen sie einsetzt und zu seinem Vorteil nutzt.
