Becker è una sitcom statunitense che è stata trasmessa dalla CBS dal 1998 al 2004 in America ed è tutt\'ora trasmessa in Italia da Comedy Central (6 stagioni). Ambientata nel quartiere newyorkese del Bronx, la sitcom è incentrata sul personaggio di John Becker, un dottore irascibile e scontroso che litiga in continuazione con pazienti, amici e collaboratori; egli però nasconde anche un lato generoso e altruista, che talvolta viene allo scoperto ma che torna ben presto ad essere oscurato dal cinico umorismo misantropo che caratterizza il personaggio di Becker. La sitcom è ambientata quasi esclusivamente in pochi ambienti: l\'appartamento di Becker, la tavola calda di Reggie e lo studio medico (altre location possono essere il ristorante di Mings, l\'appartamento di Jake, il condominio di John, alcuni esterni del quartiere).

There are only four actual songs, plus three instrumentals and a reprise of the title track. Yet the playing is suggestive of the sinuous sound that Becker and Fagen would cook up a couple of years hence in the Dan. Nevertheless, it should be sought out by hardcore fans only; there are no gems here, only some baubles. Sounds like someone didn't get their 45-minute boilerplate. And condolences to instrumentalists who thought they've been writing songs. My view: eclectic mix of jazz-rock and indie rock with notes that bend like nobody's business. Becker is an American television sitcom that ran from 1998 to 2004 on CBS. Set in the New York City borough of The Bronx, the show starred Ted Danson as the title character, Dr. John Becker, a doctor who operates a small practice and is constantly annoyed by his patients, co-workers, friends, and practically everything and everybody else in his world. This Robert O. Becker and Gary Selden's mindblowing book The Body Electric - Electromagnetism and the Foundation of Life (1985) which documents an one man's quest to bring forward an electromagnetic evolution in medicine which would finally lead it from the early 1800's into the 21st century.
