DESCRIPTION: Battlefield: Bad Company (abbreviated BFBC) is a first-person shooter under development by Digital Illusions CE (DICE). Currently planned to be released in June, 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Bad Company will be the first Battlefield game to be developed specifically for current-gen consoles

One of the new features exclusive to Bad Company will be the addition of 90% destructible environments, including buildings, vegetation, vehicles, and more. Still, for gameplay purposes, the frames of buildings and other objects will remain indestructible, to prevent the environment from becoming completely flat. Additionally, the game will feature dynamic lighting to correlate with the changing environment.

In a move similar to Battlefield 2142, the number of soldier classes will be lowered, resulting in a combination of the classic soldier classes. The same classic classes remain: Assault, Demolitions, Recon, Spec-Ops, and Support.

[edit] Weapons

All available weapons are currently unknown, but will include both modern and future concept such as the XM8 rifle with M203 40mm grenade launcher shown in a few of the screenshots, and also the G36C, M203,the Barrett M95, as well as the HK 416 seen in other screenshots. Also, PLAYSTATION magazine has a screenshot of the player holding an AT4 rocket launcher.

The September 2007 trailer features the PKM machine gun, the M40 sniper rifle, the M249 SAW, and other weapons.

Another weapon is the laser designator that allows the player to mark targets for destruction via an aircraft delivered laser-guided bomb.

A compiled list of weapons that have appeared in videos has been posted on Planet Battlefield. Currently, the following weapons have been spotted AEK971, M416, M203, M24, T194, GP30, Laser Designator, Mortar Strike, Knife, Life-2 (healing syringe), and C4 / Explosive.

The Battlefield Bad Company Beta contains 20 locked guns, 10 can be unlocked through playing the game, while the other 10 must be bought through the Xbox Live Marketplace or Playstation Network, though five of these 10 will come free with the Gold Edition of the game.

Multiplayer will support up to 24 players and feature the same large-scale battlefields found in previous Battlefield games. A new mode titled Gold Rush will appear in Battlefield: Bad Company. The setup of the game is an Attackers vs. Defenders scenario, in which one team must defend two crates filled with gold while the other team attempts to destroy the crates. Once the crates are destroyed, more of the map is available to fight on with new crates appearing, along with added reinforcement numbers. The attacking team has a limited amount of respawns to achieve their goal of capturing the 2-3 gold stashes. The defending team has an unlimited amount of respawns available, but their goal is to exhaust the attacking teams tickets (respawns). It has been confirmed that jets will not be available in multiplayer and also singleplayer because they will be too difficult for players to destroy, but DICE has assured that vehicles will still be a major part of the multiplayer gameplay.
